Opened to traffic in October 1951, the Port of Nacala currently has a general cargo terminal measuring 631 meters in length and with a draft of 9.7 meters, capable of handling 2,400,000 tons annually. It also has eight warehouses with a capacity of 50,000 tons. This terminal was leased to the Northern Development Corridor (CDN) in January 2005.
